The UVO infotainment system that's included on the new 2018 Niro PHEV, Soul EV, Optima PHEV, and K900 models will be compatible with the Google Assistant agent. Google Assistant will be able to remotely start and stop ignition, lock and unlock the car, and remotely activate the horn and lights through an app.

Kia joins other auto manufacturers in adding digital assistants to its vehicles. While some auto makers choose Google, others have opted to partner with Amazon's Alexa.

This is the start of more comprehensive digital control over your car or SUV. Google Assistant's capabilities are likely to expand and become more integrated with your vehicle's systems in order to deliver more automation and convenience.
